Why should i have my fire alarm serviced?

What are the legal requirements for fire alarm service and inspection?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that your fire alarm must be ‘adequately maintained’, however, BS 5839 recommends a fire alarm system should be serviced and inspected at least every six months and the site responsible person should check the fire alarm system at least once a week.
